Built for people who make things
Technerd is a free community platform for tradespeople, makers, and anyone who learns by doing.
Why we built this
Most online communities for trades and practical skills are buried inside social media algorithms, locked behind paywalls, or drowned in ads. We built Technerd because real knowledge — how to run a bead, wire a panel, grow a garden, fix an engine — should be free and findable.
We're not a media company. We don't sell courses. We don't have a premium tier. Technerd is a free community, and it stays that way.
What we stand for
No subscriptions, no paywalls, no premium tiers. Every feature is free for every member.
No algorithmic feed stuffed with ads. Sponsor groups are clearly labeled and opt-in.
We prioritize hands-on knowledge over theory. If it works in the real world, it belongs here.
Anyone can join, ask questions, and contribute. No gatekeeping, no elitism.
The team
A small crew of tradespeople and developers who believe knowledge should be free.
20 years in fabrication. Built Technerd because the forums he learned from were dying.
Full-stack dev and weekend homesteader. Keeps the lights on and the servers fast.
Electrician by trade, community builder by passion. Runs the groups and keeps things civil.
Former shop teacher. Writes the guides, trains the mods, and answers the hard questions.
